This Privacy Policy explains how BITRESEARCH, UNIPESSOAL LDA (“Bitresearch”, “we”, “us”) collects and processes personal data when you visit bitresearch.co or contact us. We are committed to handling your data in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (the “GDPR”) and applicable Portuguese data protection law.

- Information you give us. When you email us or otherwise contact us, we receive your name, email address, and the contents of your message.
- Technical data. When you visit the website, our hosting provider automatically logs limited technical information such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested, for security and to operate the site.
- Cookies. We use only strictly necessary cookies. See our Cookie Policy.
We do not knowingly collect special categories of data, and we do not collect personal data from children.
3. Why we process your data and our legal basis
- To respond to your enquiries. Legal basis: our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in answering people who contact us, and where relevant, steps taken at your request prior to entering a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)).
- To operate and secure the website. Legal basis: our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) in maintaining a safe, functioning service.
- To comply with legal obligations. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR, where the law requires us to retain or disclose information.
4. How we share data
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers that help us operate the website (for example, our hosting and email providers), acting as processors under appropriate agreements, and with authorities where required by law. Where a provider processes data outside the European Economic Area, we rely on an adequacy decision or appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
5. How long we keep data
We retain correspondence for as long as needed to handle your enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards, and technical logs for a limited period. We delete or anonymise personal data when it is no longer required.
6. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:

- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have your data erased in certain circumstances;
- restrict or object to certain processing;
- receive your data in a portable format; and
- withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent.

We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “last updated” date above reflects the latest version.
